Interior wall paints do emit VOC, like free monomers and solvents, when drying. Most interior wall paints are made from the base polymer styrene acrylic, because this is the easiest and cheapest polymer available.
At Intercol we are experienced to use VAE as a binder, the precedessor of VAE, PVAC is known as a wood glue. VAE is made in a reactor and can be considered as a PVAC reacted with Ethylene, where the Ethylene softens the PVAC adhesive. Therefor, the binding of VAE is stronger, especially to shiny non-mineral surfaces. Furthermore, VAE can be water soluble or water resistant, because functional groups can be added. From nature, VAE has low VOC (only some acetic acid) and most grades are flame retardant by itself.
So, if you are looking for a polymer to bind your coating, or an adhesive, consider Intercol's help with formulating your special product of the future.
UAE polymers are already available as 50% biobased, by biomass balance.
